Tuna and quark dip with veggie sticks
Creamy dip made from low-fat quark and tuna with crunchy veggie sticks. 41 g of protein per serving, low carb and ready in 10 minutes.
Ingredients
- 8.8 ozlow-fat quark
- 5.3 oztuna in spring water (drained)(1 large or 2 small cans)
- 2 ⅛ ozlight cream cheese
- 1 tbsplemon juice
- 1 tspmedium-hot mustard
- 10 gchives(finely sliced)
- 7.1 ozcarrots(cut into sticks)
- 7.1 ozcucumber(cut into sticks)
- 7.1 ozred bell pepper(cut into strips)
Instructions
- 1
Drain the 5.3 oz tuna in spring water (drained) thoroughly and mash it in a bowl with a fork until finely flaked.
- 2
Add the 8.8 oz low-fat quark and 2 ⅛ oz light cream cheese and stir until smooth. If the mixture feels too stiff, work in a tablespoon of water or milk.
- 3
Season with 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tsp medium-hot mustard, salt and freshly ground pepper. Start small, the tuna already brings plenty of flavour.
- 4
Fold in the 10 g chives and chill the dip for 10 minutes so the flavours can settle.
- 5
Meanwhile, cut the 7.1 oz carrots, 7.1 oz cucumber and 7.1 oz red bell pepper into bite-sized sticks and strips.
- 6
Divide the dip between two bowls, arrange the veggie sticks around them and serve right away.

Frequently asked
Can I make this with fresh tuna steak instead?
Yes. Grill or briefly sear a tuna steak (about 150 g), let it cool, flake it with a fork and fold it into the quark the same way. The flavour will be milder, the protein stays comparable.
How long does the dip keep in the fridge?
Two days in an airtight container. It actually improves after a few hours of resting because the mustard, lemon and chives meld together. Taste again right before serving and adjust the seasoning.
Can I eat the dip with wholegrain bread instead of veggies?
Sure, then it turns more into a meal than a snack. A slice of wholegrain bread adds roughly 100 kcal and 15 g of carbs, while the dip itself stays a dense protein hit.
